Systems integration projects

Right now I am looking for projects of integrating different systems to create value. A example of an integrated system would be to be to create a visual traceroute program like VisualRoute.

1. traceroute the server
2. find the locations of the intermediate server with a GeoIP server
3. create a path for Google Earth

Nothing is created other than the links between the programs.
